Welcome to the Team: Julie Pereira Joins JustMy as Chief Storyteller
Local & National News | July 07, 2026
JustMy is thrilled to announce that Julie Pereira has joined our team as national Chief Storyteller.

Written By JR Robinson

Julie is a United States Navy veteran, a mother of six, and the wife of a Memphis firefighter and paramedic. She's also one of the most fearless, tenacious voices to come out of Shelby County in years — and now she's bringing that same fire to help local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders across the country tell their stories.

The Woman Behind the Mission

Julie's story is one of grit, persistence, and refusing to be quiet when something wasn't right. In 2021, she and her husband Joe built their dream home in Lakeland, Tennessee. What followed was a nightmare no family should endure — a foundation built on faulty ground, a home slowly falling apart, and a fight for basic answers from the people responsible.

Instead of accepting the runaround, Julie dug in. She launched her own investigation, gathered records, followed the paper trail, and refused to let her family's experience be swept under the rug. Along the way, she uncovered problems that reached far beyond her own front door — and she had the courage to speak up publicly, even when that meant facing real pressure to stay silent.

That's the kind of person Julie is: someone who turns a hard personal experience into something that protects and empowers other people. She didn't wait for someone else to fix the problem. She became the person who fixed it.

What Julie Brings to JustMy

Julie joins us not as a spokesperson, but as a builder — someone who knows firsthand what it means to have a story that matters and not know how to make people listen. That's exactly the gap she's here to close for our clients.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

Authentic storytelling over corporate polish. Julie has no interest in stiff, sanitized copywriting. She believes — and has proven — that real stories, told honestly, build more trust than any ad campaign. She'll be coaching local businesses, nonprofits, and community voices on how to share their real impact in a way that resonates.

Stories built for how people actually search today. AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini are increasingly how people find trusted local answers — the best bakery, the most active nonprofit, the most transparent candidate. Julie's approach to narrative is built with this in mind, helping local brands show up authentically wherever people are looking, human or AI.

A creative partner across every market. As JustMy expands across Memphis, St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City, Julie will work closely with our editorial and community team — including Michael O. Harris — to make sure every profile, video, and article carries real emotional weight and clarity, not just information.

A Message from JR Robinson, CEO

"Julie Pereira embodies exactly what this brand is about," said JR Robinson, CEO and Co-Founder of JustMy. "She fought for her family, she fought for her community, and she never let anyone talk her out of telling the truth. Bringing her on as Chief Storyteller means our clients — and our communities — now have someone in their corner who knows what it actually takes to be heard. We couldn't be more excited to have her."

Welcome, Julie

Julie's story reminds us why JustMy exists in the first place: to make sure every person, every business, and every community has the tools and the voice to be seen, heard, and supported — especially when the system makes that hard.

We're proud to have her leading the way. Welcome to the team, Julie. We can't wait to see the stories you help bring to life.
