The Eyes of the World are on St. Louis

Right now, as you read this, thousands of the brightest young minds from across the globe have converged at the America’s Center for the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship. From April 21st through the 30th, downtown is transformed into a high-octane arena of gears, code, and ingenuity. This isn't just a science fair; it’s the largest robotics competition on the planet, and it has chosen St. Louis as its home.

Simultaneously, our city is buzzing with the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With the United States serving as a host nation, the "Summer of Soccer" has officially arrived in the Lou. From the mass watch parties being planned at Ballpark Village to the rowdy local gatherings at the Amsterdam Tavern, the energy is undeniable. This isn't just a coincidence of scheduling; it’s a signal. St. Louis is no longer "the city in the middle"—we are the city at the forefront of global competition and innovation.

The Movement: "STEM to Goal"

We are launching the "STEM to Goal" initiative on JustMyStLouis.com to bridge the gap between the lab and the pitch. We are here to support the non-profits and school programs that are turning St. Louis kids into global competitors. Whether they are building autonomous robots for the VEX stage or mastering the "beautiful game" through the St. Louis CITY SC CITY Futures program, our youth are proving that this city is the ultimate training ground for the future. The same discipline required to debug a line of code is what it takes to execute a perfect set piece under pressure.

Why This Needs Your Support

While the world sees the finished product—the sleek robots and the winning goals—local non-profits are doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes. Organizations like COCA, The Little Bit Foundation, and local STEM Scouting troops provide the mentorship that makes these dreams possible. They don't just need applause; they need a digital megaphone. In a world driven by visibility, these organizations need the tools to tell their stories, attract volunteers, and secure the funding that keeps their programs free and accessible to every child in the St. Louis region.

Building a "New Downtown"

This movement isn't just about kids; it’s about our home. We are witnessing the physical transformation of our city to match our digital ambition. The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and The Cordish Companies have officially broken ground on the $670 million revitalization of the former Millennium Hotel site. This massive mixed-use district will feature residential towers, upscale retail, and a vibrant food hall, finally reconnecting our downtown core to the riverfront.

Just south of the Arch, the Gateway South Innovation District is taking shape. This 100-acre redevelopment is being reimagined as a hub for design, technology, and advanced manufacturing. These projects aren't just about new buildings; they are about restoring energy and walkability to our city's front door, proving that St. Louis is ready for its next great act.
